Walk with ChaMike at Sydney Australia.

My Sydney blog posts have come to a conclusion. I have to say it felt so great writing all my experiences down and reminiscing the 5 magical days I spent with my soon-to-be husband in the land down under. For the convenience of my dear readers here are the itinerary and the actual expense we spent. Believe me, it was cheaper than what I expected (even cheaper than Singapore and we were in Sydney one day longer than Singapore)

Day 1 | The Rocks District & Circular Quay
Our flight was really early, as early 12 midnight! We arrived in Sydney at 11am. Checked-in at Sydney Harbour YHA in The Rocks District then we went off exploring Sydney. Because we were already hungry, we ordered scones at the famous Tea Cosy in the same area. After that quick lunch, we looked around the very busy The Rocks Market to find something we could buy. Proceeded to Sydney Bike Tours to bike around Circular Quay for a quick 1 1/2 hour cycle. When we came back, we explored The Rocks once again before the break of dawn and ended our day eating Kangaroo Pizza at Australian Heritage Hotel.

Day 2 | Featherdale Wildlife Park, Grounds of Alexandria & Manly Beach
Woke up early in the morning to cook breakfast in the hotel, we then went straight to Featherdale Wildlife Park for an up close and personal bonding with the Koalas and Kangaroos. Had late lunch at Grounds of Alexandria then off we went for a ferry ride to Manly Beach. Then came in the biggest surprise of my life as Mike bended on one knee and asked for my hand to be his wife! The romantic day was capped off by having dinner at Manly Wharf Hotel while catching the beautiful sunset.

My Sydney Australia Actual Individual Expense
Can you believe I only spent P36,000++ including airfare during my 5 day stay in the city? If you include the visa fee, it's only P41,800++ which is still fairly cheap. The trick is the seat sale which was only P8,700++ per head with 20 kg luggage. Going around Sydney was really affordable since all of the parks and beaches we visited are free of charge, benefits of the Opal card added savings too. The major expense that we had was the food and all the pasalubongs we bought for our friends. If you're not into eating somewhere fancy and are not accustomed to buying gift items, you will definitely save more.

  2. Hi Cham, thanks for sharing this. Just want to know how much should be the savings that needs to be in a bank certificate for a 5 days tour. Just a range is fine. Thanks!
