Sonya's Garden Tagaytay Revisited

Walk with Cham in Sonya's Garden.
How can you say no when your Mama's only request for her 61st birthday was a Tagaytay weekend with family? Well, okay, it was only Kuya and I who said yes. Papa was hesitant at first since he's not used to taking long drives anymore. But after our continuous pangungulit, we finally convinced him into doing it one weekend last January.
Sonya's Garden is a Tagaytay favorite as we have been here numerous times already - eating bread at their Panaderia, relaxing massage at their Sensuous Spa, buying pots of plants in their array of Herbs for Sale or just strolling along luscious green path. These activities made us feel like we were in a retreat every time we visited. But what we haven't tried doing together was to have a buffet lunch (it was only Mama who tried it with relatives). We went there quite early so the lunch buffet wasn't available yet. Good thing Sonya's Garden is a relaxing haven where you can wander and de-stress.

Proposal Garden
I was curious with their new garden which I've seen recently on Instagram posts from friends. I'm not sure if the Proposal Garden was a new addition but I wasn't able to see this the last time I was here. Upon entering I was enthralled by the enchanting garden. It's like one of those gardens you see in movies and in your dreams. The proposal garden was tucked away in an enclosed paradise. A garden within a garden. The lush greenery is filled with colorful, blooming and pretty flowers. It was beautiful and so romantic! I could stay in this eden forever.

If you want to spend a longer time in this place, you should tell the management in advance so they can reserve this garden for you and your partner. Although reserving this during lunch is not possible as they don't allow lunch reservations because it gets overly hot. What they do allow is guests to just roam around the area for a quick photo op like we did.

Lunch at the Sunflower Restaurant
There are three restaurants around Sonya's Garden and one of those is the Sunflower Restaurant which is just beside the Proposal Garden.

Sunflower Restaurant is another pretty greenhouse full of whites - white drapes, white walls and white table clothe. Ferns also fill the place. Its rustic and country atmosphere will ultimately relax your senses and make you feel at home.

Almost all the ingredients are harvested from their organic garden. So for those of you who want to eat something light and organic, dining here will definitely satisfy your healthy cravings. But if you would want something heavy and with lots of variety of dishes, Sonya's Garden lunch buffet might not be pleasing to your tummy and taste buds.

As for us, it is something you can do once in a while but not on a regular basis. Honestly the dishes were a bit bland, it lacks flavor and the choices were not ample. But then again their lunch is prepared for people who want to eat healthy. If you want to add more variety, additional fee is needed, you can order Braised chicken with potatoes (P728) and Roast Chicken (P554). We didn't add any as they were too pricey for us. Anyway, we were already contented with the meal served at the buffet.

Couldn't help taking a picture of their restroom. It's neat, pretty & rustic, the epitome of 'comfort' rooms.

Love love love revisiting Sonya's Garden. It's a great escape to recharge your energy. Someday, I should try their bed and breakfast offering which excludes any technology around like TV. Mike and I could also try having a romantic dinner at the Proposal Garden, I wonder how it looks at night; I assume it's magical. Sonya's Garden is a private sanctuary for people seeking for comfort, nature and love.
