Walk with Cham in Dongdaemun Design Plaza.

Also take note that DDP is closed every Monday

It's not a UFO, it's Dongdaemun Design Plaza

LED Rose Garden
This collection of 25,550 LED Rose Garden is a sight to behold. It just opened during fall two years ago and was loved by many, making it a semi permanent exhibition.

Period
April - February

Time
7:00 pm - 12:00 mn

LED Rose Garden

The number of the roses has a significance to South Korea's 70th year of independence. That's 70 x 365 days.

Roses are White, Violets are White (too)

The illuminating white rose bed serves as a romantic spot in the midst of the futuristic buildings.

I wonder why Mike and I didn't know about this place before

You can also visit this garden during daytime for a different feel - more refreshing with a combination of white and green surroundings.

Christmas or not, this illumination can be festive

So even though it was freezing cold I didn't forget to take photos with this beauty
Another angle
Of course Papa and Mama too

Art Hall
The key venue for art exhibitions, fashion shows and concerts. There are various art exhibits during our visit but because we didn't want to spend at all we inquired in DDP Information of the following shows that are for free aside from the LED Rose Garden and she directed us to this exhibit.

Design Market
Before going home we came across the DDP Design Market that sells all things cute, quirky and artsy-fartsy. Most of their brands are all made in South Korea.

Quirky Lampshade, Colorful Soap, Cute Postcards, Wooden Landmark Display

Upon looking further I saw a stall named MOMOT and immediately remembered Mike as it sells Mike's favorite movie characters. MOMOT is a paper toy brand in Korea that collaborates with international brands and artists such as DC, Disney and Star Wars

MOMOT DC

I was torn between Superman/Clark or C-3PO/R2-D2 luckily there was free WiFi around so I Facetimed Mike to ask if he wanted anything from MOMOT. After checking all the characters he settled for the C-3PO/R2-D2 combo. I bought the small sized one for 15,000 won (P595)

MOMOT Star Wars

As for me I bought my second Paper Globe for 18,000 won (P710) (my first one was purchased in Tokyo at the Mori Tower) and a Black and White World Map for 9,000 won (P360) as a souvenir.

Bought the full colored one
Maps are <3

And while scanning the place me and Papa found this very familiar set of foldable chairs. Funny he has the exact one he bought in Manila which he brings anywhere whenever we travel so that if he gets tired he can just sit anywhere and I mean ANYWHERE. Hahaha. That's my Papa!

The price of the chair is 4x the price of my Papa's chair. Haha.
