HYATT HOTEL AND NOBU RESTAURANT CITY OF DREAMS
Wednesday, December 23, 2015
It was such a bad timing that Mike's birthday and my TV show's finale, Your Face Sounds Familiar fell on the same day. But of course that didn't stop us from celebrating ze boyfriend's special day the weekend after. I promised to treat him with a staycation before we take a leave for the holidays. The thing with staycation surprises is that I was able to pick a destination of my choice - hehehe. I've been so curious with what this City of Dreams was all about thus this was my preferred venue.
City of Dreams Manila is a newly opened golden resort that houses three grand hotels, high end restaurants, international shops and bars, sophisticated nightclubs, Dreamwork's Dreamplay and of course lavish casinos. The site is located near Mall of Asia, the biggest mall in the Philippines and NAIA International Airport making it convenient for leisure travelers who want to taste the razzle-dazzle of the attractions in the Metro.
From the three hotels, I opted to book at Hyatt City of Dreams thru booking.com. I didn't have a hard time choosing since it was the cheapest among the three during that time #girlkuripot. Even though it is the cheapest, the facilities are far from cheap. way. far.
Hyatt City of Dreams is a world renowned hotel brand with 365 rooms that boasts on high-end amenities and modern ambiance. Reviewing the hotels features, I immediately booked an overnight stay at a deluxe king room. Every time I do my bookings, I always request for a room upgrade (wala namang mawawala if I do) and for this particular booking I also requested a complimentary birthday cake for Mike.
From the parking lot, we walked a few meters going to the hotel lobby passing by Dreamplay and other shops, do not expect that the parking area is connected to the hotel (like what we assumed). When we finally reached the lobby we were greeted graciously by the reception staff and she even gave a warm 'happy birthday' greeting to Mike, she also gladly informed us that the hotel provided us a corner room #roomupgradeachieved

Hyatt Deluxe King Room | P11,661.25
Chic, modern decor in earth and wood tones- this is how they describe the room. When we settled in we were so amazed by the room and its facilities, #ChaMike immediately fell in love with our staycation crib. Happy for our corner room since it is more spacious and has a better view.

We hurriedly checked their complimentary chocolate cake and ate it once, it was delectable! There was also a welcome fruit plate for every guest who checks-in. How sweet.

Bathroom
Oh it was grand, spacious and spotless. The marble bathroom has a spa tub and walk-in shower. It also has robes and toiletries- bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, vanity kit, shower cap, sanitary pad and I love that they have a salt scrub and body wash for that most coveted bubble bath.

Bubble Bath
Speaking of bubble bath, of course I didn't pass this day without having one. And to be able to get the desired amount of bubbles I requested 4 bottles of body wash with additional salt scrub at their housekeeping. It was a breeze asking for any requests from them.

Dinner at Nobu Restaurant
A birthday staycation wouldn't be complete without a scrumptious dinner so for his special day I figured of dining at the best. Nobu Restaurant Manila is one of the 32 Nobu restaurants worldwide, a very popular restaurant by world-renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa, one of its co-owners is Hollywood star, Robert De Niro.

Rock Shrimp Tempura with Creamy Spicy, Creamy Jalapeño | P990
This was absolutely delicious, it was crunchy, creamy & very tasty. Do NOT miss ordering this dish.
Black Cod Miso | P 1,530
The meat of the fish was really tender, it somewhat melts in your mouth. YUM! For the price I think the serving should be bigger though.

Mike's special request since he is a big fan of gyoza. He loved the taste but it was just too pricey.

Not in the menu. Because we missed the taste of the Japanese rice so much we ordered a cup to share.

Chocolate Bento Box | P440
A chocolate fondant lava cake with green tea ice cream. Being an absolute fan of lava cakes we definitely enjoyed eating this. Plus it comes with a birthday greeting so it looks more appealing. BTW, originally it's served in a bento box thus the name but because of the special request greeting they transferred it to a wider plate.

Happy Birthday, Babe! |
It was a satisfying night, Nobu Restaurant Manila is a perfect date place to celebrate special milestones with your loved ones. But be prepared to bring extra cash as the prices are obviously high. Our bill totaled to P5,025.43. Yes it was a bit pricey but it's nice to dine at a good quality restaurant with high-end ambiance to spoil yourself once in awhile.
Good Night
Good Night
After that over-the-top dinner, it was time to sleep. Took a glimpse outside our room and the colorful iconic fortune egg is a sight to behold.
Good Morning
We never get to see the view on our first day so when we woke up, we were mesmerized by what we saw. It was spectacular as if we're in some alternate universe.

The glistening golden resort was a feast to the eyes. The golden structures were truly magnificent, I never got tired looking outside. The pool was also so inviting so we immediately fixed ourselves and went straight to the cafe to have breakfast so we could lounge in the pool pronto.

The breakfast buffet was just at the ground floor, same area of the reception. It was huge and had ample choices. Because we love breakfast food, we were so giddy looking at the wide spread they offer. It was crazy! I love it!

Love love love their breakfast spread. How I wish I could eat all of the choices. If only I won't get fat I would eat every single dish they served. Hope that someday we can invent something like a medicine where we can eat anything but not get fat. hahaha.
Pool
So after that super duper filling breakfast, it's time to meet mr sun and dip in the luxurious pool. Looking at the photos, yes, I enjoyed it more than Mike. hehehe.

Goodbye Hyatt!
Going here was the perfect treat for the two of us who were both very busy with work. We were ultimately relaxed and had the time of our lives. In fact, Mike was so in love with the room he wants to make it his peg for a master's bedroom. Our experience was what I expected it to be and even more. Thank you Hyatt for that much needed break. <3
