Glamp with Cham at Nurture Wellness Village Tagaytay.

I've been so busy with work these past few days that I can hear my mind and body begging for rest. So when my friend, Jeng invited me to a 3-day glamping event in Tagaytay for the long weekend I immediately said yes. I set aside work and gave myself a break. Yep. I so needed this.

It was my first time to try glamping so I was all the more giddy. But what is this glamping anyway?

Glamping is a millennial term (that up until this writing isn't considered a legit word yet, in fact every time I right it down it kept on auto correcting to the word 'clamping'). Glamping is a combination of two words - glam and camp, in other words it's glamorous campingAn upgrade to camping fit for adventure seekers who love nature and the outdoors, but don’t want to compromise comfort. Glamping has quickly become an ultimate travel experience and because Lifestyle TV has always been up to date on the latest trends for modern and young Filipinos, they came up with a health and wellness glamping getaway perfect for us girls.

Glamping by Lifestyle: Pitch 2 is a second glamping project of Lifestyle, the first one was a beach music glamp fest held just this year at the Summer Siren Festival in Zambales. Because of its huge success it was quickly followed by another pitch and this time it was set in cool Tagaytay perfect for that relaxing escape.

Nurture Wellness Village

The venue was not at all new to me, Nurture Wellness Village is a popular place in Tagaytay known for their famous spa. It is a sanctuary for people who love nature and wellness. Since Glamping by Lifestyle: Pitch 2 is a health and wellness getaway the venue was perfect for the event.

Welcome Glampers!

I arrived at Nurture Wellness Village at around 11 am, the Lifestyle team welcomed me, handed me my kit and gave the keys to my tent.

Coleman Tents
Glamping is not glamping without a tent. Lifestyle provided the 40 glampers with tents but not just ordinary tents, lifestyle is in partnership with Coleman, their tent provider and seeing all these Coleman tents made me more excited to glamp.

Sea view tents

My Tent
My tent is located at the center of a group of tents , good location aesthetically for picture taking- hehehe.

Sea view tent #12

Our tent was so chic

with lots of FREEBIES!
Amenities
2 Air bed with bed sheet, 1 pillow, bath towel with basic set of toiletries, 1 electric fan per tent, electric socket, incandescent light & Coleman lamp… With lots of FREEBIES!

Glamping essentials
A Coleman rechargeable lamp which lasted the whole 2 nights during our stay
Equipped with standard toiletries- toothpaste, toothbrush, bar soap, shampoo and conditioner
my stuff
The tent has a receiving area (like a sala) good for hang outs, has two single comfy beds inside which I never had any problems sleeping on. And because my tentmate/friend, Chatt was still going to arrive the following day the tent was all to myself. Being a loner for that day it became a venue for reflection and complete relaxation.

Toilet & Bath
Of course there was no toilet and bath inside my tent. It was being shared by all the glampers at the back area of the site (I had no picture of it though). As for me I never had the chance to take a bath there as I used the ones inside the spa rooms for three days- hehehe.

Lunch
After checking in, I then proceeded to the dining area for lunch. By the way my former officemates were present too so we sorta had a mini reunion. Yay! Not a loner anymore (although I forgot to take photos of us. boo)

Free time
Because my massage appointment was scheduled at the last batch- 6pm, I decided to roam around the area and appreciate the surroundings.

The sound of the fountain was relaxing

When I finished exploring the whole village, I decided to go back to my tent, signal was very poor in the area which I guess was also part of the holistic relaxation people want to achieve when they're here, I learned to appreciate the simplicity of my current state, everything was in slow pace - no TV, no signal, no laptop, no work. Masarap tumunganga which I haven't done for so long. I was then able to take an afternoon nap (which rarely happens to me now) and then a text woke me up - 'Snacks are ready!' Wow, kain agad?! (not complaining here!)

Afternoon Snacks
Tuna and Chicken Bruschetta and Pesto Pasta. Although the menu was not Paleo I tried it nonetheless (sorry, Mama). So after the snacks tunganga ulet :p

Full Body Massage | Hilot Kagalingan
Finally it was time for that Full Body Massage Nurture Wellness Village is known for. Hilot Kagalingan is a one hour customized Filipino massage using a fusion of Asian therapies to prevent and cure common ailments.

My massage room

All rooms are equipped with toilet and bath
The one hour massage was soooo good and relaxing it was perfect for de-stressing. What I love most about their massage is that they promote traditional Filipino way of touch therapy. The oil they use is virgin coconut oil, other instruments include a Palawan rain stick, banana leaf and dagdagay stick which are all traditional Pinoy. I capped off the treatment by drinking a homemade basil tea. SARAP!

Movie Marathon Night
The filling dinner was immediately followed by a movie marathon although it was not under the stars anymore as it was pouring that night, we still had an awesome experience watching two films- Spectacular Now and 5-7.

Movie marathon setup

I want to do this with Mike someday (under the stars)

Good Night Nature!
It was a serene, relaxing, fun and filling day 1. We went to our tents and called it a night (we had a full day the next day). Honestly I was a bit worried frogs might hop inside my tent but it was all good. In fact I never saw a single frog (thank goodness!) I immediately fell asleep, the strong rain never bothered me at all! Hahaha!

Good Nighty!
