Innotel Hotel Singapore

Walk with ChaMike at Innotel Hotel.

Among the many hotel options in Singapore I chose Innotel Hotel for several reasons including its location. Innotel Hotel is a boutique business hotel located along the belt of Orchard Road in the heart of the city. This hotel is a 4-minute walk from Plaza Singapura, Dhoby Ghaut Bus Station and Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station. Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station services 3 main MRT lines so it's convenient especially if you use the train often. If you've been reading my blog, you know that a hotel's location is very important for me when traveling.  It should be close to any transport hubs thus the reason why Innotel Hotel fits perfectly to our preference. It's also relatively cheap as compared to other hotels with prime locations in Singapore.

Hello, SG

Lobby & Staff
The lobby was just small but bright and welcoming. We were greeted by the nice hotel staff and was prompt in fixing our check-in. We arrived at around 9:30 am so we didn't expect our room will be ready by then but to our surprise a room was already available so we were able to check in ahead of time.

When we asked them if they allow currency exchange they were very honest and told us that their exchange rates were very low and advised us to try the money changer at the mall beside the hotel instead.

Double Superior Room | S$ 178 or P6,000 ++ per night
Our superior room is located at the 4th floor, it's spacious and colorful giving the room a cheerful vibe. Most of the hotel rooms in Singapore are quite small so we're lucky.

Amenities
And speaking of luck, we were informed by the staff that they have an ongoing promo until October that all the drinks in the bar area were for free (worth S$18) and were replenished everyday. I love freebies!

2 sodas, 2 iced teas in can, 2 bottled waters all for FREE
Cheers to the birthday weekend!

Other amenities include 2 bathrobes, slippers, safe, hair dryer, telephone, coffee and tea making facility.

Another great amenity is their TV. At first the LED is just a simple cabled TV but with just a press on the remote…

the LED TV is transformed into a PC monitor with WiFi. How cool is that? So Mike and I had a convenient time browsing thru the net, searching for information in the places to visit in SG.

Viola! Instant PC with WiFi

Toilet & Bath
If the room was spacious, their bathroom was the complete opposite. It was so tiny and can only fit a shower and a toilet. The lavatory is located outside the bathroom beside the closet which was a bit odd and out of place.

Bathroom amenities- shampoo, lotion, bath soap, bath gel, toothpaste, toothbrush, hygiene kit, comb, shower cap, shave and shaving cream
The night before check out, we were given a reminder card of our check out date and time.

Restaurant/Bar
There is an alfresco restaurant/bar in the hotel. They serve breakfast but with an additional fee so Mike and I didn't bother. At night it turns into a bar where they serve drinks and snacks but we weren't able to try it though.

Location
As I've written, Innotel Hotel is strategically located near shopping malls & transport hubs. There are three main shopping malls near this hotel- Park Mall and Singapore Shopping Center were both stones throw away from the hotel. Located in Singapore Shopping Center was the Money Changer the hotel staff told us about. Fish & Co was just at the very front of the hotel, just look for it and you'll never get lost.

Dhoby Ghaut Bus Station and Dhoby Ghaut MRT station were just 4-minutes walk from the hotel. Dhoby Ghaut MRT station services 3 Lines- Red, Yellow and Purple so it's extremely practical especially if you'll tour around the famous spots in SG.  But if you're too tired from all the walking, you can get taxis at Park Mall, on our last day we opted to ride taxis because our feet were extremely overused.

How to go to Innotel Hotel from Changi Airport and vice versa
There are two ways to go to Innotel Hotel from Changi Airport- MRT and Bus. We experienced both but the latter is the best option.

Via MRT
From Changi Airport ride the MRT Green Line (which is at the airport itself) stop at City Hall Station and change to red line going to Jurong East, exit at Dhoby Ghaut. MRT Ticket costs S$ 2.50 one way.

Via Bus
Look for Bus Number 36 and it will directly stop at Dhoby Ghaut Bus Station - Plaza Singapura then walk for 4 minutes going to Park Mall and Fish & Co, you'll see Hotel Innotel just beside it. Bus ticket costs S$2.00 one way.

Dhoby Ghaut Bus Station

It is easier to ride a bus instead of the MRT as Bus 36 will take you directly to the area whereas when riding MRT it has one stop so you have to change lines which means that you have to walk around the subway carrying your luggages.

Innotel Hotel was a a good deal for a hotel in SG although Mike and I were hoping we can afford an overnight stay at Marina Bay Sands (it was just soooo expensive!) but Mike was certain that someday we'll stay at MBS the next time we visit SG.
