Walk Fly with ChaMike at DC Superheroes Cafe.

Look! It's a bird… It's a plane… No, it's Superman!… And other superheroes!… in one cafe!!!

Here they come to save the daaaaaaay! Mike and I were definitely saved as we were just right in time for DC Comics Superheroes Cafe's opening. The Justice League arrived on the 2nd of September (my birthday) so on our very first day in Singapore, September 4, Superheroes Cafe was a must in our itinerary. A "super" perfect SG birthday gift.

Located in The Shoppes at Marina Bays Sands, DC Comics Superheroes Cafe is the official store licensed by Warner Brothers Consumer products. It's the first and only store in Singapore though they already have two branches in Malaysia- Kuala Lumpur & Johor Bahru.

How to go to DC Comics Superheroes Cafe
We went here via Bayfront MRT

Opening Hours
10:30 am- 11:00 pm

I grew up watching Justice League, my favorite superhero was Batman. I've known the dashing Bruce Wayne thru cartoons, comic books (from my brother),  TV series (yes, the classic ones where you can see texts like "Boom", "Kapow", "Zap" and other Bat-fight words flashing on screen) and of course in movies - who can ever forget Batman Returns? My all time favorite Batman flick which my siblings and I had seen a gazillions times.

Good thing my partner-in crime, Mike is a fan too. In fact, he was the one who told me about it while we were still doing our SG itinerary. So you can just imagine our giddy selves when we saw the enormous shop right in front of our eyes. Wow. Just wow.

The store is divided into three parts- Restaurant, Take-away counter and Merchandise Store

Restaurant
We scheduled our visit in the afternoon so we wouldn't have to wait long for an available table (I heard they get really full during peak hours- lunch and dinner). At 4pm, indeed there were just a few people dining, the reason why we were able to sit at a big table.

The downside when dining at an off-peak time: few meals were only available such as sandwichesburgersstarters and beveragesEntreespastas & quesadillas are only available during lunch and dinner time. Boo.

Their menu

We noticed the expected but shockingly high prices but because we really wanted try it we ordered nonetheless.

Dark Knight Burger served with Nachos | S$29.5 (P850)
Served with charcoal burger bun, wagyu beef patty with grilled portobello mushroom, mesclun salad, fresh tomatoes, tapenade spread, red onions and melted cheddar cheese.

This, I may say is the most famous dish from the lot because of the iconic Batman logo which is made of cheese and the unique black burger bun. Since the burgers are too expensive, we just ordered one and sliced it in half so Mike and I could fill our tummies (this was our dinner, btw). The verdict? Well, from what I've read in some reviews, people like us go here just so we could experience eating a superhero burger, not because we're actually looking forward to its excellent taste. But don't get me wrong, the burger was good. The meat was juicy, I enjoyed eating it with the portobello mushroom, the greens and the spread. It was just too costly. The nachos by the way was just ordinary.

Mr J's Crazy Chili Fries | S$10.9 (P358.11)
Chili cheese fries with beef gravy & melted cheddar

Again there was nothing really fancy with this dish but we enjoyed pairing it with our burger.

The Dynamic Duo's Double Choc Craack! | S$9.9 (P325.26)
Mike's order. This was indeed good and filling, we absolutely love the tumbler with Batman logo and cape!

Catwoman's Cool Cat Caramel Latte | S$9.9 (P325.26)
Like the chocolate drink this caramel latte tasted yummy. Their serving was quite generous so yes, the price was reasonable enough especially if you're into lattes. Note that you can't take home the tumbler but you can buy them at their merchandise store. Also, you can choose what glass and logo to put, in my case I chose Wonderwoman.

Totally loving this <3

Batman and Batgirl

YUM!

Take-away Counter
Another area in the cafe is the take-away counter where they sell different DC themed pastries, snacks and drinks you can order for take-out/take-away but you can also choose to dine in. Although we never tasted any I've read that most of their sweet treats were delish.

Superman Rainbow Cake

Merchandise Store
The last area is the merchandise store, here you'll find life-sized superheroes and toys on display. You can also find here almost all DC merchandise any DC fanatics would look for - from clothing, shoes, bags, mugs, glasses and tumblers to lunch boxes.

Mike, more than me enjoyed strolling along the store looking for a thing or two to take home to Manila. But unfortunately he found none, they were all a bit pricey.

Mike was absolutely satisfied

Over-all it was a FUNTASTIC experience especially if you are a die-hard DC comic superheroes fan. A great venue for a lot of photo opportunities and one-of-a-kind finds. But may I say that most of the items didn't do justice from the price. But hey! Anyone who loves DC would not want to pass up on this experience. Just like ChaMike.
