Ninyo Fusion Cuisine & Wine Lounge Quezon City
Friday, July 31, 2015
For Mike and I's 4th anniversary aside from the three-day trip to Albay, I surprised Mike (again) on our actual anniversary with another intimate romantic dinner, this time it's just within Mike's turf- in Katipunan.
Nestled along the street of Esteban Abada lies a cozy restaurant you wouldn't imagine existed in the middle of the busy Katipunan Avenue. Ninyo Fusion Cuisine & Wine Lounge is a fine dining restaurant that serves impeccable Asian- European fusion dishes and is a well-known place for romantic secluded set-ups (one of my friends got engaged here).

It was not my first time to dine here, we celebrated Mother's Day at this restaurant and my family loved the ambiance and especially the food. Although dining here is a little expensive (we paid 3,000 ++ for the four of us) I must say that we got our money's worth, and because of that I wanted Mike to experience it with me, thus the reason why I immediately bought a voucher at cashcashpinoy.com when I saw it was on sale. For an affordable amount of Php 1,699, you will get a 4-course meal for two persons complete with private gazebo and romantic set-up.
Ironically, even if Mike lives around the area and knew about the place even before, it was his first time to go here that's why I was quite anxious to visit Ninyo with Mike (while repeatedly asked him why he never brought me here).
Venue
The moment we entered the restaurant we were greeted by an eclectic tropical garden. The place was an ancestral home turned into a restaurant that has that Tagaytay-like ambiance - quiet and relaxing giving the customers a stress-free homey vibe.

Dining Options | Indoor
Dining here has two options: you can either eat inside a two-floor cozy indoor area, this is best for group dining. My family opted to eat indoor at the second floor because they wanted a cool area. The ambiance was still intimate but less romantic than their more popular gazebo dining.

Dining Options | Garden Gazebos
Garden gazebos are perfect for anniversaries or any romantic date with your partner. It is an open area so do not expect an aircon to cool you down but nevertheless the rustic wooden furniture, white draping on the sides & mood lighting are sure hits for couples who are in for a romantic dining experience. So of course, that was where I reserved a table for two. If you want to dine here I suggest you go here at night so it's cooler.

Food
The food are carefully prepared by the owner/head chef Nino Laus. They have several options for a 4-course meal but for the voucher we were to experience a particular degustation. Degustation C includes:
Amuse-Bouche or a single, bite-sized hors d'oeuvre
Entremet or a small dish served between courses
Soup
Choice of Entree
Grilled Chicken Balsamic Teriyaki served with Grilled Japanese Rice and Grilled Leeks with Miso, Tomato and Onion
Honey Glazed Grilled Salmon with Sweet Citrus Miso Sauce served with Light Wasabi Mashed Potato, Grilled Asparagus and Demi Dried Tomato
Beef Salpicao Teppan Style served with Steamed Japanese Rice topped with Fried Quial Egg
Shiitake Mushroom Udon Pasta with Light Soy and Garlic Sauce served with Broccoli and Asparagus
Burnt Creme Brûlée
Mango Pavlova
Complimentary Bread
We started the night with complimentary bread and butter on the side.

Drink | Citrus Fusion Iced Tea
The iced tea tasted fine. Not too sweet but has that mild citrusy kick.

Amuse-Bouche | Wasabi Fried Oyster Tempura
with Balsamic Citrus Mayo Dressing and Red Lumpfish Caviar
This hors d'oeuvre looked like an artwork. The oyster shell sat pleasantly on a small plate of rock salt. It tasted even better than it looked. It had a crunchy texture outside giving a perfect combo of the flavorful oyster inside. The mayo dressing and caviar made this dish even tastier. This was just so delish!
If you want to order a regular serving of the oyster tempura they have 6 pieces for P350.
Soup | Nori Pumpkin Soup
with Pumpkin Flower Tempura
The creamy soup was rich and savory which I loved. The chewy pumpkin flower tempura offered a new approach to this soup dish.
Entremet | Yuzu Sorbet
To prepare us for our main course this elegant bite-sized sorbet gave our taste buds a fresh start.
Mike's Entree | Grilled Chicken Balsamic Teriyaki
served with Grilled Japanese Rice and Grilled Leeks with Miso, Tomato and Onion
Mike ordered this for two reasons- 1. he loves chicken 2. he loves Japanese. So this dish was a winner for him, the teriyaki and balsamic fusion added uniqueness to this yummy dish.
Cham's Entree | Honey Glazed Grilled Salmon
with Sweet Citrus Miso Sauce served with Light Wasabi Mashed Potato, Grilled Asparagus and Demi Dried Tomato
Another work of art. I just love how they carefully put every single dish together and this particular dish is no exception. The salmon and asparagus were cooked to perfection.
Even if this was good I would've preferred ordering the other main entree selection- Beef Salpicao Teppan Style.
Beef Salpicao Teppan Style
with Steamed Japanese Rice topped with Fried Quial Egg
I ordered this dish during my first visit and it was so good. The meat was absolutely tender & flavorful. Yum.

Mike's Dessert | Mango Pavlova
Their dessert offering was just small but nevertheless tasted delectable. This meringue based dessert melts in your mouth, it's soft and light perfect for a happy ending.

Cham's Dessert | Burnt Creme Brûlée
Because I already ordered Mango Pavlova during our first visit I opted to try their Creme Brûlée. It's good but tasted ordinary just like other creme brûlées I've tasted. The Mango Pavlova was the better option than the Creme Brûlée if I may say.
The 'ChaMike 4Ever' text added sweetness to their dessert. <3
Ninyo's version of Pont des Arts. After that filling and satisfying dinner the waitstaff handed us a love lock and Sharpie so we can put dedication before locking it on their love locks collection.

Nice write-up! Was wondering if it's going to be too hot to eat in the gazebos on a summer night? I want the romantic set-up but it defeats the purpose if we're sweating the whole time. :) Thanks
ReplyDeleteI guess dining at the gazebo on a summer night would be just fine :)
Deletehow did you make your reservation po? kailangan ba a week before?
