#ChaMike4ever at The Oriental Hotel Legazpi

When The Oriental Hotel Legazpi first opened years ago I swore I will stay here if ever I visit Albay. That promise to myself happened this month when me and Mike celebrated our four years together. We spent two days and one night here then transferred to Misibis Bay the next day (we wanted to get the best of both worlds)

The Oriental Legazpi is a luxurious hotel on top of Taysan Hill where you can get a clear view of Mt Mayon and Legazpi cityscape. Good thing they offer a Bed Weather promo from June - September 2015 and paid almost half of their usual rate.

Airport Pick-up
We flew via Cebu Pacific and landed in Albay at around 12nn. Kuya Rick was promptly waiting right outside the arrival area looking for his passengers - we were the only ones at that time. The travel was a good 15-20 minute van ride going to the hotel.

The lobby was bright white, a great amount of light passes through the symmetrical windows of the building making the aura of the place positive (and kinda hot too)

Outside the lobby you can already see the majestic Mount Mayon
a fan of black and white interiors

The only difficulty in this hotel is their elevator which is very hard to operate. The touch screen feature requires a special/gentle way of pressing. We hope they can replace it soon.

Overly sensitive touch screen elevator

Deluxe Queen Mayon Room | P 3,740++ (discounted rate)
A P740++ difference from the deluxe city view, we booked the room with the view of Mt Mayon and coincidentally our room number was our monthsary date- 18. Yes, I believe this trip was perfectly designed for us <3

Our room - 18

Queen sized bed, air conditioned unit, LCD cable TV, telephone, 2 complimentary bottled waters, coffee and tea making facility, mini ref and an open closet (they have no safe)

Deluxe Queen Sized Room

Open closet

Ref, Coffee and Tea maker, LCD TV, bottled waters

Study desk

The veranda was the hotel's unique feature. It's absolutely refreshing and the view of Mt Mayon is always breathtaking. Pampatanggal stress.

Before we leave
The bathroom was okay. It has shower and basic toiletries- shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, soap and dental kit. Although there were no bidets :(

Breakfast Buffet at Jasmine Restaurant
The promo rate includes a breakfast buffet for two making our stay very sulit. The breakfast buffet is at the Jasmine Restaurant just beside the lobby. ChaMike loves breakfast buffets, Mike was even excited the night before.

Jasmine Restaurant
Breakfast spread, I love the capiz lighting decors
Mike the breakfast hoarder

The breakfast spread was ample and has many options. I became giddy when I saw the dried fish selection. Not all hotels in the Philippines serve it so I was quite surprised. Hotels should all serve tuyo for breakfast! Agree?

Dilis, Okra, Tuyo, Daing and Sapsap- yummers!
Pancakes, Adobo, Tapa and Buttered Chicken
Bread, Kakainin, Fries, Cereals
Water and Juices- Orange, Blue Lemonade and Pineapple
ChaMike loves breakfast buffets!

We loved our stay at The Oriental Hotel Legazpi- customer service was great, the room of course was great even without the bidet and their breakfast buffet was a winner. The only downside was their elevator.

Goodbye Oriental Hotel!

** The next day a Misibis Bay van picked us up at the hotel. When we were in Misibis Bay I realized I left my camera charger plugged at the socket of the hotel. I called their reception and told me that Kuya Rick will give my charger back at the airport before we leave for Manila. And yes the moment we arrived at Legazpi airport Kuya Rick was standing outside the airport waiting for me and handed my charger. Great customer service indeed!
