ChaMike's 3rd Anniversary Dinner Date at Chef Jessie's 100 Revolving Restaurant

ChaMike at 100 Revolving Restaurant

Oh yes! ChaMike just turned three! And what better way to celebrate 3 years of love but to dine on top of an overlooking fine dining restaurant with the 360 cityscape view that only Chef Jessie's 100 Revolving Restaurant can offer.

If you've been constantly reading my blog for the past years you probably know that Mike loves to surprise me especially on special occasions like this. Of course Mike had a perfect plan which I had zero idea on what or where it was until we reached the parking of Mercury Drug Corporate Building.

Receiving Area

100 Revolving Restaurant is the only revolving restaurant in Metro Manila located at the 33rd floor of MDC which is the tallest building around Eastwood area. The restaurant serves exceptional French dining cuisine that Chef Jessie Sincioco is known for. Chef Jessie is the proud owner of some of Manila's best such as Rockwell Club and Top of the City. Though I haven't been to those restaurants, I've known her as a perfectionist chef when she guested a couple of times on Junior MasterChef and MasterChef Pinoy Edition which were my projects before.

ChaMike's Obligatory Restaurant Shot

The restaurant is spacious with native rattan furniture giving you a relaxing yet classy ambiance. It is enclosed with panoramic glass windows so guests can have a great view outside. It has two main areas- the outer carpeted revolving area and the inner wooden non-revolving area.

The restaurant's interior

The inner wooden non-revolving area is best for big groups and (I guess) people who have motion sickness.

Inner wooden non-revolving area

Of course Mike reserved a table at the revolving area as it is the restaurant's unique selling point. I was quite anxious on how the restaurant revolves because when I first heard about the 'revolving restaurant' I thought that the whole structure was moving in circular motion and I was like 'How did they do that?' Yun pala the floor of the restaurant's outer part acts like a conveyor belt that gently moves counterclockwise giving their guests a 360 view of the cityscape. Brilliant idea indeed!

Mike had also informed them that we were celebrating a special occasion, thus the reason for our red tablecloth. And from where we were seating, we saw an amazing panoramic skyline and it changed from time to time since it took almost two hours to complete the 360 revolution. Oh it was such a romantic sight!

Our view outside

At first, the feeling that we were moving kinda felt awkward [ you may feel a bit dizzy]  so you have to think less of the motion but instead enjoy the experience.

I love it when we celebrate special occasions because Mike allows me to order anything. ;)

I love the view here more

While waiting for our orders these were the other areas we discovered along the way.

Bar

Kitchen

To start with, we were given complimentary bread of different kinds- ciabatta bread, wheat rolls, bread rolls with a special dip.

Complimentary Bread

Here's our orders:
Steak Tartar with French Fries Small (P500)
For appetizer, Mike ordered the steak tartar hoping that it tasted the same as Antonio's steak tartar when we dined there last year. Although the taste was not close to Antonio's, Chef Jessie's version didn't disappoint.

Steak Tartar with French Fries

French Onion Soup in the Classic Way (P260)
I love how the soup tasted. Just how I want my onion soup- simple, comforting and tasty.

While enjoying my soup

Bacon-Cheese Savoury Soufflé  (P360)
I also tried their savory soufflé but by the time it was served to us I was actually full from the bread, appetizer and soup. So my suggestion- order either the soup or the savory soufflé.

Bacon-Cheese Savoury Souffle

Duck Confit with Crispy Skin (P850)
For my the main entree, I ordered something that is not usually available in other restaurants- The Duck Confit. The presentation was simple yet classy. I love how the duck was cooked, its skin was crispy and really delicious. The potato gratin and veggies meshed well with the duck. It was lovely.

Duck Confit

US Black Angus Peppered Tenderloin Steak (P1,600)
For Mike's main entree, he tried the Angus Peppered Steak in medium well.

Wine of the Month (P250 per glass) Bordeaux 2007 Vieux Chateau Renaissance Merlot
To make the night more memorable and special, we ordered 2 glasses of red wine (It's actually ChaMike's first time to order wine together)

Wine for me

I'm not sure if it's just the wine but Mike looks really gwapo here <3

Sugar Free Chocolate Decadence (P295) the complimentary anniversary treat from the restaurant
Complimentary cakes never fail!

Complimentary cake for the win!

Dessert Souffle Vanilla flavor in medium size (P250)
To cap off the night, we ordered Chef Jessie's best selling and famous Dessert Soufflé. And can I just say that it is the BEST! I can eat soufflés everyday basta it's from Chef Jessie. It is simply-to-die-for.

Vanilla Souffle---THIS!!!

After binging the soufflé until it disappeared for 20 seconds we realized that we were at same spot where we started. The two magical hours had passed by so quickly. True that when you're having fun time flies so fast. And while we were about to leave I saw a familiar lady chef checking on some of her guests so I approached her and asked for a photo and she gladly obliged, we even had a small chit-chat and told me to send her regards to Ms Judy Ann.

If you want to know how much we spent, it was about P4,000 ++ for the both of us (Although you can lessen the cost depending on your order but don't ever skip the soufflé!). It was a perfect night shared with the perfect date. Thank you Mike Magsaysay for never getting tired of surprising me. Happy 3rd Anniversary! I love you!!!
