Long Weekend Ilocos Roadtrip in Bantay Abot Cave

Just a few kilometers away from Patapat Viaduct lies a huge rock with a hole which they call Bantay Abot Cave.

 Local tour guides <3

We were welcomed by these local kids who were willing to assist, take photos and share a little bit of a background about this tourist spot.

around 30 feet hole

Bantay Abot was named such because the word 'Bantay' in Ilocano means mountain while the word 'Abot' in Ilocano means hole so in layman's term it means 'mountain with a hole'.

Tita Marlyn stayed at the van so it was just the 4 of us

Although it is not actually a mountain not even a cave but is more of a huge rock. According to our little tourist guides the hole was developed due to the natural combination of waves from the sea and other elements that was purely nature's work.

The view here looks pretty amazing too!
