Walk with Cham's Brazilian Hairventure at Christ the Redeemer

Christ the Redeemer is a statue of Jesus Christ located at the top of Corcovado Mountain in the Tijuca Rainforest overlooking the city. It is Rio de Janeiro's most popular icon and is recognized as one of the 7 Wonders of the World.

How to go to Christ the Redeemer:
There are several ways to reach the top. In our case we went up via car and tram.

Via CAR
Because the tram got busted when we were about to go up, our tour guide opted to ride a car. There are several cars for rent that will take you up the statue. The crazy zigzag ride will get you a bit nauseated. So I really don't suggest you to take this one…

Good thing we stopped at the middle part of the mountain then our tour guide arranged for us to ride the tram once more.

Via TRAM
The best way to go to Christ the Redeemer is through The Corcovado Tram because here you will have to pass by Tijuca Rainforest and appreciate the beauty of nature. It is open from 8:30 am-7:00 pm, the tram leaves from the station every half an hour.

Rates:
Adults R$46 (P860) roundtrip
Children R$23 (P430) roundtrip

After the tram ride, you have to take an elevator to reach the top.

And atlas!!! Hellooooo there JESUS!!!

Christ the Redeemer or Cristo Redentor is the 5th most largest Jesus Christ statue in the world with the height of 30 meters (98 ft) plus 8 meters (26 ft) pedestal, its arms is 28 meters (92 ft) wide. It is made of reinforced concrete and soapstones, and was constructed between 1926 and 1931.

Goosebumps all over me! I took so many pictures of this iconic monument because I know it would be impossible to go back to Rio :)

Of course we also took pictures with Him <3

Travel Tip: Don't forget to bring a jacket if you are wearing thin clothes. My Mama wore sleeveless top at the chilly Corcovado so she felt very cold.

A beautiful panoramic view of Rio from up here

Then it was time to bid goodbye...

The challenging trip going up to see the well-known statue of Christ was all worth it. Visiting Christ the Redeemer before was just a dream for me, even until now, writing about it is still surreal. Truly God is an amazing God! :)

    1. If you're carrying a Philippine Passport, it won't be a problem. The immigration never asked us for any documents such as Acceptance Letter :) Although our purpose there is to travel, not so sure if same applies when you go there for a different reason :)
