Do-it-yourself Pancakes FTW!


While Mike & I were strolling along The Block SM North Edsa, a new breakfast restaurant with pancake banners & table top griddles caught our attention. Slappy Cakes a new breakfast food joint just opened their second franchise branch in SM North early this month while its first franchise branch opened in Eastwood last May. 

At first we were hesitant to try it out even if we both love pancakes as we had an upcoming buffet galore date at Spiral Sofitel but resisting those fluffy looking pancakes were the hardest thing! And so we gave in...



Slappy Cakes is a full service breakfast restaurant with great food and one-of-a-kind dining experience in a fun and interactive setting by giving their customers an opportunity to make their own pancakes right at their table. Originated in Portland, USA it branched out to Maui, Tokyo and now in Manila. 



Because we were both on a 'diet' we planned to order and try out the do-it-yourself pancake meal and one breakfast entree only. 

Toad in a Hole P240- Two eggs fried in sourdough served with breakfast potato and bacon or sausage.

For the do-it-yourself pancake, these are the steps:
1. Choose a batter- Buttermilk, Whole Grain, Peanut Butter, Vegan & Chocolate
2. Pick your fixin- choose between a savory fix in or a sweet fix in
3. Add some toppings- add toppings after pancakes are cooked for best results

Nutella & Banana fixins, staple syrup- mango & plain syrup & the table top griddles

 ChaMike's DIY Pancakes. We chose a Buttermilk Batter P220 for an 8oz bottle & picked two sweet fixins- Nuttella P75 & Banana P45. We didn't add toppings anymore because they already had a staple plain and mango syrup

We were in PANCAKE HEAVEN! When our teeth sank into those yummy pancakes we knew we made the right choice of forgetting our diet! Hahaha! Breakfast food is LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! <3
