Things to do in DAVAO | Pearl Farm Beach Resort

Sunday, March 24, 2013

Pearl Farm Beach Resort is a luxurious hideaway for those in need of a blissful getaway. It is nestled in the island of Samal and is one of the premier destinations in Davao.

From the airport, Kuya welcomed us with a happy grin. We were then transferred via van for a 10-15 min ride to Pearl Farm Marina where we waited for our boat to arrive. The travel time to Samal Island is about 45 minutes.

At last! The peaceful Pearl Farm Resort! We arrived there earlier than our check in time so we spent sometime around the resort.

Tip: If you will be arriving earlier than your check in time, it's best to try out other activities while waiting.

Pearl Farm is undergoing a renovation so we didn't get to use some of their amenities :(

under construction
» Parola renovation and refurbishing of furniture, fixtures, and equipments.
» Construction of a boardwalk from Parola to Maranao restaurant
» Improvement of pool deck including refinishing of swimming pool
» Refurbishing of Maranao restaurant furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
» Introduction of new landscape concept or redevelopment of landscape.
I believe the renovation will be finished in June of this year.

At 2pm we checked in at Samal House, it is a stilt house which is patterned after the houses of Mindanao Samal tribes.

Samal House

My friend recommended this room because you get to have a wonderful view of the ocean, all rooms have a balcony where you can see the clear water.

We went to Aqua Sports Center to check on the amenities. Ron wanted to try out kayaking so we did. The main challenge was to get to Malipano Island via kayak. OK. Good Luck.

Kayaking rental fee- P450 per person

Other Aqua Sports amenities are snorkeling, scuba diving, intro dive, jet ski rental & fishing.

Mike got to Malipano Island first then me, Ron on the other hand was caught in a strong wind and went the opposite way. We were really getting scared he might not make it but after a few rows, he made it to the shore! :)

Go RON!!! Kayang KAYAK! :p
Malipano Island is an island opposite the resort. It is where the most expensive villas are located.

After the gruesome kayaking, we went here for a dip. The water and view were breathtaking and what I loved most about this resort was that it was not crowded. It's peaceful and blissful perfect for honeymoons and retreats.

  1. Good review. By any chance, did you get a glimpse of the hilltop rooms? Do they seem like walking distance? Lol.

Also, are the food prices you posted already nett of tax?

    Thanks. :)

    1. Thanks! :) I didn't get to see where the hilltop rooms are located :( though they offer services that roam around from time to time. Mandaya rooms are the nearest :)
