Shopping in HONG KONG

Shopping in Hong Kong never fails to disappoint. Though my main goal in Hong Kong was to wander around & sight see, shopping has been a common thing when I travel especially for pasalubong hunting.

ready to go shopping

Here are the shopping places I've been too...

MONGKOK
or the Ladies Market is just one MTR away. It's a very busy & bright place with different shopping stalls who sells just about anything until midnight. Though the vendors of these stalls are quite rude, you have to be very careful on making tawad if they feel you're not interested on their items they will shoo you away.

TEMPLE STREET NIGHT MARKET
or Men's Market is a popular street bazaar which opens after the break of dawn. This night bazaar sells variety of items like jewelries, apparels, gadgets, souvenir items, antiques and just about anything.

There are a number of seafood restaurants along the streets too, we even tried to have dinner at one of the stalls.

The food was just okay but the experience is worth a try.

WESTERN MARKET
Passed by this Edwardian style building while we where on the tram. The red bricked market sells arts & crafts, fabrics and miniature Hong Kong vehicles.

Amused by these cute souvenir vehicles. We even bought two for my Papa who loves collecting miniature cars.

IFC MALL
or the International Finance Center Mall It is where all branded items are sold like Zara, Prada, Aldo, Bvlgari, Chloe, Burberry, and it is where the humongous Apple Store is located.

It was so jam packed when we went there, we were planning to buy an iPhone 5, iPad mini and Macbook Pro as it's way cheaper in Hong Kong than if you buy it in the Philippines but we were really disappointed that iPhone 5 and iPad mini isn't available. So we ended up buying my Kuya's Macbook Pro

H&M
Perfect place to buy pasalubong for your friends in the Philippines since there's no H&M in our country. I bought accessories, lotions & makeups for my friends as Christmas presents.

HONG KONG'S PUBLIC MARKET
My kuya has this thing for shopping at public markets where he buys local ingredients to cook when he arrives home. Their public market is clean and organized plus there's no foul smell. You won't see any foreigners in this place so all items are local priced, even vendors are extremely nice. We bought spices, mushrooms, century eggs & local noodles. My kuya was the happiest! :)

HARBOUR CITY
Along Canton Road where all designer items are sold- Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, name it. It is where I bought my first ever Gucci Bag last 2009. Their items are a lot cheaper than here in the Philippines :)

They also have one of the grandest Christmas displays.
