Subic Bay's OCEAN ADVENTURE

Wednesday, August 08, 2012

I've been to Subic many times (for Zoobic Safari & Tree Top Adventure) but we never entertained the thought of going to Ocean Adventure not until Mama gave us tickets! :) Ocean Adventure is Southeast Asia's only open-water marine park which showcases shows of different trained animals like whales, dolphins & sea lions.

*Dolphins Friend Show

So Gin drove to Subic for us (Thank you Gin!) and enjoyed one HOT Saturday with Kuya, Gael, Gin, Ate Angge & Mike.

almost there!

It is open from 9am-6pm. Admission fees are: Adult for P550, Senior citizen & children 12 years old and below for P440. Parking is free by the way.

Upon entering, a staff will greet you and you will be given a line up of show schedules and will suggest an itinerary that best fit the time of your arrival. Because we arrived there at 12nn, we had lunch at the very crowded cafeteria! I swear they have to do something about the long queue of people, the cafeteria cannot accommodate the number of people who eat there especially during lunch.

my cutie pie, Gael

Take note that the Ocean Adventure theme park has no aircon, the only air-conditioned areas are their cafeteria & souvenir shop, all the shows are open air so expect OA sweat.

After the very challenging lunch, our show itinerary are as follows...

1) High Dive Show
International divers show their diving tricks that amazed the audience including me, they even have a mini comical skit and involved Mike as the brother of one of the divers!

At the start, we are seated at the very front of the stage, a staff warned us that we might get a 'little' wet. I don't know what they mean for 'little' because at the end of the show our clothes are dripping wet! Buti nalang it was an entertaining show so never mind the wet clothes, at least we had fun ;)

2) Dolphin Friends Show
Thrilled by the group of trained dolphins doing exhibitions in front of the audience. They are definitely a crowd pleaser. Kudos to the trainers as well!

We also availed the dolphin encounter worth P650 for two.

3) Sea Lion Marine Patrol Show
This show is just like what we saw in Manila Ocean Park but this one's longer and better. Gin is invited to be their special guest which is quite cool.

Overall the experience is ok. Best to be with kids. :)
