Wonders of PUERTO PRINCESA- Honda Bay

Saturday, July 21, 2012

Island hopping at Honda Bay was our very first activity in Puerto Princesa. We were a bit late because of our delayed flight so we were rushing ourselves to go to the port, the last boat to leave for the tour was at 2pm. We arrived at 2:10 pm, luckily our tour guide arranged it to push thru and the coast guard allowed us! Yipee!!! :)

We booked the Honda Bay tour from our hotel which costs P6,600.00 for an exclusive tour & boat that had a maximum capacity of 6 pax. The tour was inclusive of air-conditioned van, boat transfers, all entrance fees, buffet picnic lunch, use of shed or cottage and with the service of a licensed local tour guide.

off we go island hopping

Because we're a bit late we can only visit 3 islands. Our first island to visit was Cowrie Island.

The first thing I noticed in this island was that there were too many locals with there dogs swimming in the water...

Nevertheless, it's perfect for a lunch-by-the beach vibe!

The next stop was not an exactly an island, Pambato Reef. Here you can swim and explore the ocean. We enjoyed our under-the-sea experience!

The reef was right in the middle of an open water. Locals built platforms around the reef for tourists to have an easy way visiting it.

Snorkels, goggles & underwater camera case can be rented on your way to the dock.

Our last island to visit was Luli Island, it was called so short for 'lulubog-lilitaw' ('now you see it' during low tide & 'now you don't' during high tide). Lucky us it's low tide the time we went there.

The shore wasn't at all nice but the bangkeros had few camera tricks that made this island fun to stop by!
