I Miss SAIGON- Day 2

Sunday, July 15, 2012

Our second day in Saigon was scheduled to visit the Cao Dao Temple & Cu Chi Tunnel.

1. Cao Dao Temple

It took us 3 1/2 hours to travel from HCM City to Cao Dao Temple.

The temple is the headquarters of Caodaism, a religion with colorful mix of Buddhism, Christianity & Confucianism

Everyday at 12nn, the followers gather here & perform their ritual. Visitors will attend the noon prayer session to witness the daily mass held by the Cao Dai followers. We are only allowed at the second floor.

After the witnessing the ritual, had a quick lunch then went to Cu Chi Tunnel for 1 & 1/2 hours of travel.

2. Cu Chi Tunnel
War zone area during the American-Vietnam War. It played an important role during the war because it is the host to barracks, medical facilities, storage rooms, classrooms, even a small movie theater! -- all underground
