Welcome to Keia's Play Area
Recently, I found fulfillment in decorating my daughter's nursery and play area. Maybe because growing up I've always daydreamed of me having a pretty room. Don't get me wrong, I had a nice room full of Boyzone & Spice Girls pin ups (hihi) but because my Mama was an interior designer (we even had a furniture factory) I was used to seeing really pretty rooms from her portfolio and piles of home magazines. So when we moved toazaaaz our new house, Keia's nursery and play area were my priorities.
Finally, I will be able to write a legit "Travel Post" again! I must admit, I feel rusty writing any travel related article because after 16 loooong months it is only until now that I was able to travel again. Before I became a mom (and purchased a house) I spend most of my savings through traveling, I travel for at least three times a year so not going anywhere for more than a year was a quite an adjustment for me #adultingtothenextlevel. But yes, I am just so happy that finally I am in my element again. So dear readers, here's my blogpost about our Family Staycation at Movenpick Hotel Mactan Cebu.
Keia is ONE! Can you believe we actually have a one year old daughter? It was yet again another milestone for her and for us first time parents so celebrating it was really important. Aside from her birthday, it was also her dedication, house blessing and our second marriage anniversary, truly a momentous event! So last March 16, a 4-in-1 party was held in our village function room and outdoor park.
Welcome to Keia Lavender's Nursery, my baby daughter's little nest which I meticulously and enthusiastically designed on my own.
Ever since I gave birth, I became more conscious with what I wear, well aside from transitioning from medium to large (which was such a heartbreak for me) the major reason of my wardrobe change was because I decided to exclusively breastfeed Keia. So choosing the right nursing outfits was a definite must when I became a mom. Here are the staple breastfeeding outfits in my wardrobe.
After giving birth, I only had two months of maternity leave and since we can't really afford to take a leave longer than the allowed leave (because #priorities) I immediately returned to work after two - months postpartum. And since I am an advocate of breastfeeding (Read: My Breastfeeding Journey and How I Increase My Milk Supply) I vowed to breastfeed Keia for at least the first year of her life. I can only do that if I pump and store milk so Keia can bottle-feed my milk even when I'm away.
Because August is Breastfeeding Awareness Month, I will be sharing with you my breastfeeding journey as a working mom. I will also be sharing some tips I learned on how to increase your milk supply and how I survived breastfeeding even when I'm working.
When Mike asked me where I wanted to spend Mother's Day, I immediately said I want to go out of the house. I've been on house arrest since Keia was born and for those two months that I stayed in our condo, I extremely felt depressed 😠good thing we were able to go out and travel to Tagaytay. I personally requested to have lunch at Marcia Adams Tuscany as I've been wanting to go back here since the first time Mike and I visited it 4 years ago. So Mike and I together with my parents had lunch in beautiful Tuscany.

I'm sure any mother would agree that giving birth is the most rewarding feeling ever (it is for me!) but let's be honest, it is also the most stressful job in the world! I didn't realize it until I became a mom myself. After giving birth I stayed in our house and in my parents' house for two months straight just taking care of Keia from day to night! And no matter how much I adore my little one, caring for your newborn can be so taxing, exhausting and yes, depressing.
